Employee Bios

In this section you will find a selection of key employees that make CMI one of the Northwest's premier precision machine shops. Please feel free to e-mail one of them with questions.

Lowell "Chris" Christensen, President

E-mail Chris at chris@christensenmachine.com

Chris started Christensen Machine Shop in 1980 as a general machine and job shop. Chris' experience started as a 19 year old interested in mechanics. Chris started as a mechanic apprentice in 1958 with a tractor repair shop. In 1959 Chris accepted a position with Rupert Iron Works where he developed excellent machining and problem solving capabilities. In 1970 Chris was offered and accepted the Chief Machinist and Shop Forman position with Amalgamated Sugar Co. in Paul Idaho. He was responsible for all machining projects to maintain the world's largest white sugar producing plant.

With a proven track record as the Chief Machinist, Chris began his own general machine shop in 1980. The business quickly grew from one lathe and mill to todays General Machine and Compter Numeric Control (CNC) Divisions.

With over 30+ practical years of experience and a knowledge base far beyond most machinists, Chris has and continues to services customers better than they have requested.

Chris is often asked "how has the business been so successful?" He responds, "You have to see the problem to be able to fix it, and once you know how to fix you it better do it right so you don't have to fix it again."

Robert Christensen, V.P. CNC Division

E-mail Robert at robert@christensenmachine.com

Robert became interested in machining at an early age and has worked beside Chris, his father, for more than 20 years. After graduating high school Robert attended Idaho State University and received his Associated Degree in Machining Technology. Robert also attended Boise State University and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. In 1994 Robert returned to the shop to work full time. His full time dedication to the reorganized Christensen Machine, Inc. (CMI) has seen the development of one of the Northwest's premier CNC shops which now includes DAEWOO lathes and mills. Roberts capabilities include engineering consulting, CNC programing, quote preparation and daily business administration.

Mike Christensen, V.P. Operations

E-mail Mike at mike@christensenmachine.com

Mike also has worked along side Chris for some 15 years and has always taken a hands on approach. Mike completed an apprenticeship under his fathers direction and continues to increase his capabilities in the general machining operations.
